History
Nishi Hongan-ji Kagoshima Betsuin is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganj-ha sect, and for one such as I, a fox, it is also a cherished place where the teachings of the Buddha dwell. Located in the center of Kagoshima, it is familiar to many believers. With a history spanning the Edo period, it has played an important role in establishing Buddhist culture in the Satsuma region. The compassionate teachings of Amitabha Buddha have long supported the hearts of the people of this land. Today, it remains an important place of prayer where many people visit seeking peace of mind.
