Asaka Kokuzō Jinja is an ancient and venerable shrine that has long been situated in the Koriyama area. As its name suggests, it has long been revered as the supreme guardian deity of this region once ruled by the Asaka Kokuzō. Kokuzō refers to an ancient provincial official, and the shrine enshrines the ancestral founder of the local powerful clan that ruled this region. The shrine has walked alongside the development of Koriyama, and as the guardian deity of Koriyama as a prospering commercial town, it continues to receive many visitors. The shrine earnestly listens to and honors the wishes of all who visit.
