Gokadō is a temple of the Rinzai sect (Nanzenji branch) located in Yokoze-machi, Chichibu-gun, Saitama Prefecture, bearing the mountain name Ogawa-san. It is the fifth temple on the thirty-four-temple Chichibu Pilgrimage Circuit and has been designated a historic site of Yokoze Town. The temple maintains the traditional pilgrimage form, with Gokadō serving as the main hall and Kōkōji Temple, some 250 meters to the east, functioning as the designated stamp office. A classical verse praises the hall: 'Deep as the grace of parents is Gokadō — how reassuring is the vow of great compassion.'
