Byakko

Known as an ancient temple with connections to Prince Shotoku, this sacred place conveys vestiges of the Asuka period to the present. There is also a tradition that the Prince moved from the Ikaruga Palace, and the temple has long been revered as a holy site of Prince Shotoku faith. The temple grounds preserve numerous historic sites and treasures related to the Prince, where one can sense the breath of Buddhist culture from ancient times. Particularly as the deity of learning, there is a history of many students visiting to receive wisdom.
