Tengakuin, formally known as Kudokuzan Tengakuin, is a Soto Zen temple in the Watanaichi district of Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Founded in 1495 (Meio 4) with Hojo Soun as its founding patron and Kodo Genpaku as its founding priest, the temple enshrines Senju Kannon (Thousand-Armed Kannon) as its principal image. The temple continues to serve the local community, drawing worshippers seeking blessings for family safety, protection from evil, and academic success. As a temple connected to Hojo Soun, the pioneer warlord of the Sengoku era, it carries a profound sense of historical weight.
