History
Kaijinja, enshrined in Tarumi, Kobe, is a sacred shrine dedicated to the deity of the sea. Standing on a high plateau overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, it has long been deeply revered by local people as a guardian deity of maritime safety and fisheries. Along with the development of the port city of Kobe, many sailors and fishermen have prayed here for safe voyages throughout its history. From the shrine grounds, one can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea, which purifies the hearts of visitors.
