Takahara Kumano Shrine is a Shinto shrine located along the Nakahechi route of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail in Tanabe City, Wakayama. Also known as Takahara-oji, its former social rank was village shrine. The main hall was designated a Wakayama Prefecture tangible cultural property in 1961. The surrounding landscape forms part of a nationally designated scenic site. Standing in the deep mountains, the shrine has long served as a spiritual sanctuary for pilgrims traversing the ancient trail.
