Shoganje is a Jodo (Pure Land) Buddhist temple in Konosu, Saitama, formally known as Tenshozanryochuin. The principal image is Amida Nyorai. Renowned as one of the Kanto Eighteen Danrin (centers of learning for the Jodo sect), it flourished as an academy for Buddhist monks. Rooted in Konosu, it nurtured many clerics as a center of nembutsu (nenbutsu) practice. To this day it maintains the lamp of Dharma, praying for the salvation of all beings under the protection of Amida Buddha.
