History
Hoshoji Hachiman Jinja, located in Hachimancho, Imizu, is a venerable Hachiman shrine. 'Hoshoji' is an old place name that speaks to how this area prospered as a port town from ancient times, serving as a vital crossroads where many people traveled. This shrine, which enshrines Hachiman Daijin, has long gathered the faith of local people as the tutelary deity of the region.
