Yuka Jinja Hongu is enshrined on Mount Yuka, one of Okayama Prefecture's most spiritually significant mountains, and is a shrine of distinguished standing. Known throughout the nation as one of the "Three Great Gongen of Japan," it has long been cherished as "Yuka-sama" by the people. It is particularly famous for its divine virtues in removing calamities, drawing many pilgrims from distant places. This main shrine stands in a scenic location overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, retaining vivid traces of the history of syncretism between Shintoism and Buddhism, and has gathered deep faith. Even in modern times, it continues to be beloved by many as "Yuka-sama, the remover of calamities."
