History
Chokuji, situated in the Shinano-i region, is an ancient temple known for the merciful protection of Kannon. While the name Chokuji appears throughout Japan, all such temples share a deep connection with Kannon worship. As the place name Shionosaki suggests, this area flourished long ago as the Salt Road.
