Saho Jinja, formerly known as Sakai Jinja, is one of the most prominent shrines in the northern Harima region of Hyogo Prefecture. The surrounding area developed as a gate town centered on the shrine, with the town name Yashiro (meaning shrine) itself reflecting its deep historical ties. The shrine is dedicated to Saho-hime-no-mikoto, a goddess of spring associated with agriculture and livelihood. It continues to serve as a spiritual anchor for the people of northern Harima.
