History

This Renkeiji, founded during the Oei era (1394-1428), is a Jodo sect temple rooted in the land of Kawagoe. It is said to have been founded by Master Jikaku Ennin and has long been believed to bring blessings for child-rearing, safe childbirth, and family safety, serving as a spiritual refuge for the local people. In particular, the Jizo statue for child-rearing attracts much devotion. Even I, a white fox, pray for the healthy growth of people in this tranquil temple.
