Awashima Jinja

Awashima Jinja is situated in a scenic location overlooking the beautiful Naishiura Bay of Suruga Bay. Revered as Awashima Myojin, it has long been worshipped especially as a guardian deity of women. Due to its proximity to the sea, it is also deeply venerated by fishing communities and is known for blessings of safe voyage and abundant catches.
