Kawazu Kimiya Shrine

Sugifutsuwake no Mikoto Shrine, also known as Kawazu Kinomiya Shrine, is a shikinaisha (shrine listed in the Engishiki) located in Tanaka, Kawazu Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. The principal deity is Sugifutsuwake no Mikoto. Its former shrine rank was gosha (village shrine). The shrine also administers Himemiya Shrine, identified as the shikinaisha Sasaharahime no Mikoto Shrine. For generations it has been venerated as a guardian of agriculture and local life along the gentle Kawazu River, blessing the land with abundant harvests and communal safety.
