Suwa Jinja in Kashiwa is an esteemed shrine established through the invitation of the Grand Shrine of Suwa in Shinano. Enshrining Takeminakata no Kami, it has long been cherished as the guardian deity of this region. The kami of Suwa is known as a deity governing wind and water, and it gathered the faith of people in Kashiwa during times of active agriculture, who prayed for abundant harvests. Even today, it continues to watch over the peace and development of the community—a warm shrine.
