History
Ippeki-ko Jinja is situated on the shores of the beautiful lake 'Ippeki-ko' on the Izu Peninsula. Ippeki-ko is also called the 'Eye of Izu,' and along with its mysterious presence, the shrine is beloved by many. In this natural setting, faith has flourished centered on gratitude to the water deity and the blessings of nature. The precincts, surrounded by the clear waters of the lake and verdant mountains, are truly worthy of being called sacred ground. Those who purify their hearts and make their prayers will surely feel refreshed.
