Ryuko Myojin Shrine in Koshigoe, Kamakura is said to have been founded in 538 CE, making it the oldest surviving shrine in Kamakura City. The enshrined deities are Tamayorihime-no-Mikoto and Gotoruryunokami. Situated close to the sea, it has long been venerated by fishermen and sailors as a guardian of maritime safety and abundant catch. Many visitors continue to visit this shrine with its deep connections to the sea and the dragon.
