Hayauma Jinja is an ancient shrine that watches over the seas of Kesennuma and has been revered as the guardian deity of maritime safety and fishing. It has a long history of founding and has gathered the deep faith of fishermen and sailors in this region. Located with a view of the beautiful coastline of the Karakuwa Peninsula, it is revered by many as the deity of the sea. Particularly, it receives deep faith from those in fishing and maritime industries, and is a spiritually efficacious shrine with an endless stream of visitors praying for safety.
