History

Byakko

Sasuke Inari Jinja is a mystical Inari shrine nestled in a hidden village of Kamakura. When Minamoto no Yoritomo raised his army, he encountered an old man at this location who gave him an oracle saying "I will help the assistant lord (Suke dono)," from which the name "Sasuke" is said to derive. The countless vermillion torii gates that line the approach path, surrounded by bamboo groves, are magnificent and worthy of the solemn gateway to the sacred domain. It is known for its divine virtue of success and prosperity, drawing many people to worship during life's turning points.
