History
Yohoji, formally known as Shounzan Yohoji, is an independent Buddhist temple in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa. Its former head temple was Minobusan Kuonji, affiliated with the Ushiosha Hoen lineage. Within the temple grounds rests the tomb of Masako, daughter of Prince Takami — a grandson of Emperor Kanmu — known as Taira-zuka. This burial mound is considered the origin of the place name Hiratsuka (flat mound). Visitors come seeking family safety and healing.
