Miyagi-ken Gokoku Jinja is a shrine that enshrines the honored spirits of those from Miyagi Prefecture who gave their lives in wars following the Meiji Restoration. Founded in Shōwa 14, it honors these heroic spirits while welcoming many visitors who come to offer prayers for peace. Situated in a corner of the Sendai Castle ruins, its serene grounds offer a magnificent view of the Sendai cityscape. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, as if to console the honored spirits. It is a sacred place where gratitude and prayers for peace are offered.
