History
Tsurubayashi Temple, standing in Kakogawa, is an ancient temple of the Tendai school that boasts a history of 1400 years. It is said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku and is also called the "Harima Horyu-ji." It possesses many cultural properties, including the National Treasure Taishi Hall. Throughout its long history, it has flourished as a center of learning and culture, producing many monks and scholars.
