Mitakedai Sugiyama Jinja is enshrined on the verdant hills of Aoba-ku, Yokohama. When I visited, a refreshing breeze was blowing. This shrine has long been devoutly worshipped as a deity for prayers for rain, as well as for safe childbirth and warding off evil. The precincts are surrounded by nature, and a quiet and pleasant space spreads out. Visitors forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and offer their prayers with a calm heart. I also calm my mind for a while while feeling this pure air. It is a shrine rich in nature, loved by local people.
