History
Habu Jinja in Narita is a venerable shrine dedicated to the deity who rules over the bounty of the fertile earth. As the name Habu suggests, this land has long been blessed with quality soil, and it has collected the faith of people engaged in agriculture since ancient times. During the Edo period, it prospered as an area visited by many pilgrims traveling to Naritasan Shinshoji, and people prayed for safe travels and prosperous business. Even as times have changed, the shrine continues to serve as a spiritual support for local people, receiving all manner of wishes from prayers for abundant harvests to household safety. It is a warm and welcoming shrine.
