Hokiin Temple is a beppaku honzan (special head temple) of Koyasan Shingon Buddhism, located on Mount Koya in Wakayama Prefecture. Enshrining the eleven-faced Kannon as its principal image, it is also known as the Okoromo-dera (Robe Temple) for preserving a robe associated with Kukai. It is the 6th temple of the New Saigoku Pilgrimage and a component of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range. The temple also operates as a shukubo (pilgrims lodging).
