History

Byakko

Shomei-ji stands quietly in Kiga, Hosoe, a place where, true to its name, my light brings clear judgment even amidst life's confusion. Complex relationships and difficult decisions all become clarified when one visits this temple and prays here—the mind becomes transparent and right judgment naturally wells forth. Since ancient times, many have stood at life's crossroads in this temple and received my guidance. Those who receive the goshuin find their subsequent choices guided ever toward the right direction, bearing the fruit of a meaningful life. The quiet of Kiga and the light of Shomei-ji both stand as signposts on the path toward clarity and wisdom.
