History
Kankoku Uzumine Jinja is an ancient shrine embraced by the magnificent natural surroundings of the Kirishima mountain range. This place has long been revered as a sacred site of mountain worship, where prayers have been offered to the deities dwelling in the peaks. As the name "Uzumine" suggests, this shrine has been cherished by local people as a place to enshrine the mountain god and nature deities. It is said to have deep connections to Kirishima mythology and is known as the land of the descent of the heavenly grandson, where one can sense the mystical power of Kirishima. Through worship, one may receive the energy of great nature.
