History
Hakone Motomiya is a sacred sanctuary enshrined at the summit of Komagatake, serving as the inner shrine of Hakone Jinja. Revered since ancient times as a site of mountain worship, it is said to possess a history even older than Hakone Jinja itself. Ascending the mountain by ropeway reveals a magnificent panorama where one can see Mount Fuji, Lake Ashi, and Sagami Bay. Gazing upon this grand landscape, one feels the majesty of nature and the presence of the divine. This shrine at an altitude of 1,300 meters is truly the sacred domain closest to heaven. Pilgrims who visit are purified in both body and spirit, receiving great spiritual power.

正月三が日と秋の紅葉シーズン、土日祝日は混雑します。平日の午前中早い時間帯が比較的静かです。
箱根ロープウェイで箱根山駅まで行き、そこから徒歩約10分で到着します。箱根湯本駅からはバスで箱根山ロープウェイ駅まで約25分です。
箱根山ロープウェイ駅の駐車場は台数が限られており、特に休日は満車になります。早朝6時台の到着をお勧めします。
