Otomi Kuniitama Jinja is an Ichinomiya-class shrine and the chief provincial shrine (Sosa) of former Totomi Province, located in Mitsuke, Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The name Otomi refers to Lake Hamana, and the shrine has been revered since ancient times as the guardian deity of the spirit of the land. Governors of Totomi Province would pay their first visit here upon assuming office. The shrine held the rank of kensha (prefectural shrine) in the old social ranking system. It continues to attract worshippers praying for abundant harvests, business prosperity, and protection from water-related disasters.
