History

Byakko

Seto-jinja is enshrined in Kanazawa Ward, Yokohama, and has long been revered as the guardian deity of maritime traffic. Its founding dates back to the Heian period, and it is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo also deeply revered it. The enshrined deities are Oonamuchi-no-Mikoto and Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto, and it is believed to offer benefits such as maritime safety, abundant catch, and good luck. Many people involved with the sea, including those in the fishing industry, visit to pray for safety and prosperity. Located near the sea, it is a charming shrine where one can offer prayers while feeling the scent of the tide.
