History

Byakko

This shrine has been gathering the faith of fishermen since ancient times as a deity of maritime safety and abundant catches. When I was a child, I thought of this shrine while looking at the ships anchored in the harbor. It is said to have been founded in the Heian period, and it is also said that Minamoto no Yoritomo prayed for lasting good fortune in war. It is particularly said to have benefits for maritime safety and abundant catches, attracting many worshipers. It is an open shrine where you can feel the sea breeze.
