Gokuraku-ji

In the sacred ground of Ichiomiya, Gokuraku-ji shines as a beacon of Pure Land faith. At this temple under my protection, countless souls have begun their journey toward rebirth in paradise. The light emanating from the principal Buddha Amida reaches directly to the hearts of those who wish to escape the suffering of samsara. Within the temple hall where the sound of chanting never ceases, the gates to the Pure Land stand eternally open. Those who receive the goshuin have a sacred promise: no matter what hardships they may face, they are embraced by the compassionate light of Amida Buddha and shall eventually travel to the paradise of the Pure Land.
