History
Tonomaichi Suijinja (Suijingu) is a shrine founded to express gratitude for the blessings of water and to pray for its benefits. It is said to bring protection from water disasters and prayers for safety, and is deeply worshipped by local people. The enshrined deity is Mizuhanome-no-Mikoto, and it is believed that she protects people's lives with her power.
