Sakakiyama Inari Jinja in Morioka is a shrine dedicated to Inari Ōkami, enshrined on the sacred mountain called Sakakiyama. The name "Sakaki" refers to the sacred tree offered to the deities, and the very mountain itself has been revered as a sacred domain since ancient times. Through the virtues of Inari Ōkami, this shrine with verified spiritual efficacy brings prosperity in business and abundant harvests to the people, and has been cherished by the community. The grounds, surrounded by verdant mountain greenery, are a special place where one can feel the strength of nature despite being in an urban area. The foxes, messengers of Inari, are said to favor this pristine environment.
