Morioka Hachiman Jinja is a representative Hachiman shrine of Morioka. As the place name Hachimancho indicates, it has long gathered faith as a central shrine of this region. Hachiman deity enshrines Emperor Ojin as the main deity and is revered both as a war god and as a deity of national protection and industrial development. Since the Morioka Domain era, it has played an important role as a guardian deity of the castle town, and continues to be a source of support for Morioka citizens today. During the spring festival, it is filled with many worshipers and serves as an important place to deepen community bonds.
