This temple is said to have been founded in the Heian period. Although its founder is unknown, it has been rooted in this land for a long time and has gathered people's faith. The name Ichijo-in is thought to originate from the Buddhist teaching of "Ichijo," which aims to spread the teaching that all sentient beings can become Buddhas. It has overcome many wars and disasters throughout its long history and still quietly stands as a spiritual support for the local people. The grounds are covered with old trees that convey a sense of tranquility and historical weight, healing the hearts of visitors.
