Tsukiyomi Jinja is a mystical shrine situated at the foot of Sakurajima, an active volcano. Enshrining Tsukuyomi no Mikoto, the deity who governs the night, it has long been worshipped since ancient times. This is a special place where one can feel the serene power of the moon deity amidst the magnificent nature of Sakurajima. A sacred place where the dynamic energy of the volcano harmonizes with the static power of the moon, achieving perfect balance of yin and yang. When one offers prayers while gazing at the moon floating in the night sky, a mysterious experience of heart cleansing occurs.
