History

This shrine enshrines the spirit of Sugawara no Michizane, revered as guardian of scholarship and culture. Since ancient times, students have come to this sacred place in Hirakugrinaka to pray for the fulfillment of their scholarly pursuits. I too am drawn to its cultural refinement. Before the Tenjin, all may polish and develop their innate talents.
