Shirata Jinja

This shrine has a venerable history, enshrining the white banner of the Minamoto clan. It is said that in ancient times, Minamoto no Yoritomo stopped in this area to pray for victory in battle and dedicated a white banner. Since then, it has been worshipped by many people as a deity of lasting military fortune and good luck. Within the grounds, items related to Yoritomo remain, creating an atmosphere that evokes history. For the local people, it has become an indispensable spiritual refuge.
