History
Tatae-ji is a sacred site long enshrined in Tatae, near the sea of Komatsushima. As its name suggests, it stands in an excellent location overlooking a fine inlet, and from ancient times it has been a temple gathering the faith of people along with the blessings of the sea. Fishermen and merchants have passed down through generations their practice of praying here for safe voyages and business prosperity. Within the grounds where sea breezes blow pleasantly, one can offer prayers with a peaceful heart while gazing upon the vast ocean. This temple standing in Tatae is believed to grant the strength to overcome life's rough waves and to bestow new hope.
