As the name Ashigura suggests, it is a place that teaches gratitude for one's daily sustenance and the abundance found in a simple life. The serene environment surrounded by nature in the mountains is an excellent place to purify the heart and strengthen the spirit. Within the temple grounds reached by walking a long approach path, one can forget the troubles of daily life and offer sincere prayers. If you offer prayers enveloped in the spiritual essence of the mountain, surely both body and mind will be purified.
