Hashikuraji is a temple of the Shingon-shu Omuro sect, located in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, atop Mount Hoshuyama. It is the principal temple of the Shikoku Bekkaku Nijureijo (Twenty Sacred Alternate Sites), serving as the 15th temple on that pilgrimage, as well as the 4th on the Shikoku Thirty-Six Fudo Reijo and the 28th on the Shikoku Thirty-Three Kannon Reijo. The principal image is Konpira Daigongen. According to tradition, Kobo Daishi enshrined Konpira Daigongen at this site. The precincts, perched high on the mountain, offer a solemn atmosphere that has welcomed pilgrims and worshippers for centuries.
