History
Kasuga Jinja is a shrine of distinguished lineage enshrined in Kasuga-cho, Tokushima City, established through enshrinementation from Kasuga Taisha in Nara. This shrine, which gave its name to the Kasuga district, has long served as the local patron deity watching over the community's daily life. It enshrines Takemikazuchi no Mikoto and the four deities of Kasuga, who are the patron deities of the Fujiwara clan, and is particularly known for its divine virtue in bringing good fortune and warding off calamity. In spring, beautiful wisteria flowers bloom in profusion, and the grounds become a magnificent landscape truly befitting the name Kasuga.
