Tomisaki Jinja is an ancient shrine situated on a hill overlooking Katsuura Bay. For generations, it has been devoutly worshipped by fishermen and local residents as a deity of maritime safety, abundant catches, and matchmaking. Every summer, the magnificent Katsuura Tairyo Matsuri (Grand Fishing Festival) is held here, drawing large crowds. From the shrine grounds, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Katsuura's beautiful coastline, offering a healing vista. It is also pleasant to offer prayers quietly while feeling the sea breeze.
