Kōbō-ji is a historic temple located in the area where Saint Nichiren spent his childhood. It is said to bestow blessings of academic success, good luck, and warding off evil, attracting many worshippers. Particularly, many visit to learn about the teachings of Saint Nichiren and to pray for academic achievement. The temple grounds house numerous Buddhist statues that convey the teachings of the Lotus Sutra, as well as items associated with Saint Nichiren, offering a sense of history and tradition.

樹齢400年超の伏姫桜(しだれ桜)の開花期間は短く、満開時は平日でも境内が混雑します。ソメイヨシノより早く咲くため、開花時期がずれることがあります。
