Yamato Hime Miya is a relatively modern shrine founded during the Taisho period, enshrining Yamato Hime no Mikoto, who served Amaterasu Omikami and determined the location of Ise. Yamato Hime no Mikoto was an imperial princess deeply involved in the establishment of Ise Jingu, and this shrine was built to honor her accomplishments. Situated on a verdant hill in Kusube-cho and close to Ise Jingu's Inner Shrine, the grounds are filled with refreshing air and a peaceful atmosphere that evokes the compassion of Yamato Hime no Mikoto. Many visitors pay their respects here when visiting Ise, and it is especially cherished as a guardian deity for women. This is a heart-soothing shrine where one can feel the warm divine will of Yamato Hime no Mikoto, who loved the land of Ise.
