History
This Bukkyoji (Bukkyoji) is a historic Jodo Shu temple said to have been founded in the Kamakura period. It is said to have been founded by Yuishinbo, a disciple of Shinran Shonin, and has long gathered the faith of people. Its principal image is Amida Nyorai, whose serene expression soothes the hearts of visitors. The precincts are rich in greenery and enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere. In particular, the Sacred Kannon Bodhisattva statue enshrined in the main hall is deeply worshipped as a compassionate deity. It is said to grant wishes such as family safety, warding off evil and good luck, and sound health, and many people still visit to offer prayers. Prayers unchanged since ancient times still live on in this land.
