Sone Tenmangu

Sone Tenmangu is a Tenmangu shrine located in Sone, Takasago, Hyogo, dedicated to the spirit of Sugawara no Michizane, the legendary scholar and statesman revered as the god of learning. The shrine is well known for its autumn festival and for the famous Sone no Matsu pine trees, which were designated a national natural monument. Though the original pine trees no longer exist, the shrine continues to attract students and worshippers seeking blessings for academic achievement and success in examinations.
