History
Tokushima-ken Gokoku Jinja is a shrine enshrined in Saiga-cho, Tokushima City, dedicated to the spirits of those who gave their precious lives for their homeland. It was established to comfort the souls of those from Tokushima Prefecture who fell in wars following the Meiji Restoration, and was built with prayers for peace. As a spiritual home for the prefecture's people, it is filled with many worshippers during spring cherry blossom festivals and autumn grand festivals. The grounds are adorned with flowers of all seasons, creating a solemn yet warm sacred place infused with gratitude to the honored spirits and prayers for peace.
