Miho Jinja is an ancient shrine located on the Miho Peninsula, famous for Miho no Matsubara, positioned at a scenic location overlooking Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji. It enshrines Ookuninushi no Mikoto and Mihohime no Mikoto, and has long been revered as deities governing the blessings of the sea and mountains. Miho no Matsubara is a mystical place also known for the legend of the feathered celestial maiden, and has watched over the beautiful coastline where it is said a celestial maiden descended. The devotion of those engaged in fishing and maritime commerce has been profound, with worshippers continuously visiting to pray for safe seas and abundant harvests. Together with the scenery woven by Mount Fuji and the pine groves, this is a wonderful shrine where visitors can have a heart-cleansing experience.
